Welcome to Kairos at Warren Correctional Institution
Kairos Prison Ministry is an ecumenical Christian ministry. Kairos of Ohio operates as an affiliate of Kairos Prison Ministry, Inc. which governs with a national Board of Directors. Ohio Kairos operates three major ministries: Kairos (the oldest and main ministry) Kairos Outside, and Torch. The mission of Kairos is to help grow and nurture strong Christian Communities within state and federal correctional institutions.
Kairos at Warren Correctional Institution is the focus of a local group of Kairos of Ohio volunteers. The Kairos experience for residents starts with a 3-day short course in Christianity that is attended by the residents and provided by a team of trained outside volunteers. The Kairos "graduates" attend small Prayer and Share Groups, semi-annual Kairos Retreats and monthly reunions with the Kairos volunteers.
The mission of the Kairos Prison Ministry is to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth, as well as their families, to become loving and productive citizens of their communities.
Kairos Prison Ministry International, Inc. (KPMI) is a Christian faith based ministry which addresses the spiritual needs of incarcerated men, women, youth and, their families. By sharing the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, Kairos hopes to change hearts, transform lives and impact the world. KPMI sprang from the Cursillo movement and is supported by volunteers from the 4th Day movements such as Cursillo, National Episcopal Cursillo, Presbyterian Cursillo, Lutheran Via de Cristo, The Upper Room's Walk To Emmaus, and independently ecumenical Tres Dias as well as volunteers from independent and non-denominational churches. As a ministry, Kairos embraces a diverse group of volunteers working together to fulfill Christ's call to action in Matthew 25:36.
We need your help. There are many opportunities for you to serve in this ministry. All we ask is that you have a willing heart and a spirit of obedience and you can play a crucial role in God's ministry of Changing Hearts, Transforming Lives and Impacting the World. Here's some basic information to help you "get involved."

Be a Team Member
Kairos volunteers come from all walks and strata of life. They all share a desire to follow Christ's admonition of Matthew 25:36, "I was in prison and you visited me." If you feel God's call to minister to the incarcerated consider participating as a part of the Kairos inside team.
Be a Prayer Partner
All Kairos activities are covered with prayer. You can be a part of that prayer effort. Contact us! You can find many of our prayer vigils on WCI Weekend Prayer Signup (Scroll down to the bottom of the page and locate "Warren Correctional Institution")
Be a Support Volunteer
Each Kairos retreat weekend has opportunities for outside support, such as baking cookies, writing letters of support, or preparing meals. Get your church's Sunday school classes to color placemats for mealtime in prison.

Kairos Prison Ministry of Ohio Inc offers the option for you to support our ongoing prison ministries using PayPal. This is a fast, sure, safe method of using your credit card, or your PayPal account, to make your financial gift. (Click here to process a payment and further instructions ...) Please designate your gift as "WCI" or "Warren Correctional" in the Donation Comment Form so that our team receives proper credit for your financial donation. Thank You !!
Be a Cookie Baker
We may need up to 5,000 dozen cookies for a typical Kairos weekend. Do the math... that's 60,000 cookies! Homemade cookies are a tangible expression of Christian love and an indication of God's concern for a group of people who seldom encounter either in the course of their daily lives. Your loving sacrifice will provide "bread" that shines the Light of God's Grace into the darkest corners of a prison unit. May God bless you for the gift of baking!
